The South Huron Exhibition & Sale is just around the corner. To be held at the Ironwood Golf Club just outside of Exeter, the Exhibition features works by local artists as well as several workshops and events for all ages from October 30 through November 8
Exhibition Program:
Friday, Oct. 30: Opening Reception from 7:00 to 9:00 pm.
Location: Ironwood Golf Club. The major prizes for the show will be awarded, there will be live music and refreshments. The Exhibition will continue through to Sunday, Nov. 8. Works will be for sale. All ages are welcome and Admission is free.

Saturday Oct. 31: Family Halloween Party from 1:00-4:00!
Location: Ironwood Golf Club. All ages are welcome at Ironwood for an afternoon of Halloween fun with face painting, story telling, crafts and games, best costume prizes and more!
Monday, Nov. 2 & Saturday, Nov. 7: Introduction to Photography at the Exeter Public Library with Pedro Nogueira- Part of the Test Drive Your Creative Side classes offered through the Creative Huron program.
*Session I = Monday, Nov. 2 from 5-8 p.m. *Session II = Saturday, Nov. 7 from 2-5 p.m.
Location: Exeter Library, 330 Main St. S, Exeter. Cost: $20
In this introductory class you will learn about your camera and its components, gain a greater understanding of aperture, shutter speed, camera modes, depth of field, white balance, and more. Please bring your film or digital camera.
Instructor: Pedro Nogueira has been taking pictures since he was a teenager and the enthusiasm has never stopped. We may say that photography is not about the equipment and its technicalities, but knowing the basics of how the camera works and how to set it up, can be very useful to help capture images the way we see them. Location: Ironwood Golf Club. Artisans from the area will be selling their creations in the Artisans Market. Just in time for the Holidays, this is a great chance to pick up handmade jewelry, photography, paintings and more. Open 11:00 am – 5:00 pm. Some of the Artisans are:

Saturday, Nov. 7: Lantern Making Workshop with Karen Melady from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm – lunch option available for additional cost. Email for details.
Location: Ironwood Golf Club, 70969 Morrison Line, Exeter. Cost: $20
Another workshop offered through Creative Huron’s Test Drive Your Creative Side program, Lantern Making using various materials – tissue paper, reed, bamboo, tape, acrylic medium – make a lantern of your own design to light your room, patio, or even a walking trail. Take a few hours or the whole day: You will design and put together your frame, and then apply the paper with acrylic medium. Time required will depend on the complexity of your design. All abilities can be accommodated. Children under 12 need to bring an adult helper. Your chance to make your own special illuminated creation for the Christmas Lantern Walk following the annual “Lighting of the Park” in Exeter on the Friday, November 20, 2015. Participants are asked to arrive a few minutes early so instruction can begin right at 10:00 am.
Instructor: Karen Melady is an educator, community artist and dreamworker. She has designed and facilitated community art projects on her own and in partnership with Worth Their Salt including The Fabric of Stories, Crafting Connections, Communitrees, and Peer Arts Practice Group. For over 10 years she has led lantern making workshops for the Maitland Trail’s Candlelit Walk and for other occasions.
